Position: Machine Technician-Lead

Pay range: $21.00 to $26.50 per hour

Full Job Description:

Founded in 1989, AMI’s work is found worldwide in building security systems, solar energy equipment, pharmaceutical equipment, aircraft instrumentation, industrial laser controls, medical devices, Internet-of-things devices, and a host of emerging products from high-tech startups.

Responsible for the day-to-day tasks of the Maintenance, Machine and building infrastructure department. Must be able to understand, identify, and support customer needs and be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, not only with the customer but internally with all areas of support and production.

The ideal candidate:

  • Understands and can troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, PLC’s and mechanical systems
  • Has the ability to read, understand and work, schematics/wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and component datasheets
  • Has the experience in programming placement machines
  • Has experience in managing a small number of employees
  • as experience in using drills, tap and die sets
  • Has a general knowledge of pneumatic systems, including solenoids and air cylinders
  • Is familiar with General Hazardous waste procedure

Some of your responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshooting equipment issues that come up
  • Provide effective leadership for the Maintenance Dept
  • Specify and have machine replacement parts ordered
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines at the plant
  • Coordinate with the facility manager on issues that affect the environment of the plant
  • Regular and routine communication with customers and internal support functions
  • Maintain ANSI ESD program
  • Manage OSHA General Hazardous waste program
  • Able to fabricate mechanical aids to improve manufacturing

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience or equivalent: (Preferred)
  • 2+ years’ experience working with pneumatic and mechanical systems (required)
  • Associates degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent work experience (required)
  • 2+ years’ experience working with electrical systems
